Atenas Playa beach club wedding // Chiclana de la Frontera, Cádiz, Spain

We had such an incredible day yesterday capturing one of the sweetest couples here in Chiclana in Atenas Playa beach club. The weather forecast had been promising such windy weekend days so we knew we had some what of a weather challenge but we made the most out of it! You can imagine the beach being FULL of people on a warm September Saturday but the whole La Barrosa was empty, and we took full advantage of that.

The day started at on of the beach hotels at La Barrosa called Maria Antonia. We got to document a lil wedding preparation and honestly had so much fun in the process. When we go to bride Teresas room, her mum was already greeting us with two glasses of sparkling wine, a day can not start bad with such a beautiful happy mum and a glass of bubbles! We found a white wall where the sun was shining so beautifully and got to snap some of my favourite getting ready photos, I was so happy!After capturing the bride and groom we headed to the ceremony space to Atenas Playa right on the shore of the La Barrosa beach. The flowers were so dreamy and the whole space looking at the ocean was so beautiful. As the stunning bride was walking in we got some documentary photography of all the emotions of the friends and family standing by the altar.

The day went on and we got to do portraits with the couple on three different occasions which was just so amazing so we could truly capture the full ray of emotions of the day. I absolutely love making the portrait shoot in a couple of different parts so we only need around ten to twenty minutes each part and making it fun and easy and fast is the most important. The party was such a blast and I just love seeing my couples enjoy their day and fully live in the moment. They didn’t have a first dance but instead they just danced together with all the bands, dancing sevillana and kissing in the middle of the crowd. This is like a dream of a documentary photographer, everything just happening in the moment and nothing is planned, I loved to capture that!

For our last portrait session we asked if the couple wants to go with us to the beach. They were so brave and came with us in the 40km/h levante wind and we got some incredible pictures of them literally alone on the beach, okay needless to say, I’M IN LOVE.
