Editorial boho wedding, Jerez de la Frontera // Saray & Ivan

Welcome to my documentary style wedding photography day celebrated in the beautiful Andalucian countryside

It was a year ago when the bride Saray had reached out to book me for her big day, which was going to be in the lovely Villa Cartuja in Jerez de la Frontera. She had told me a little bit about the boho theme that she wanted to achieve and send me some photos for inspiration and I was totally on board. We decided to go for editorial style wedding photography look and I was so excited to be a part of her and the groom Ivans big day!

Oh and the day, it was so beautiful. It was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to. I felt so grateful to be there to document all the special moments for them to look back later. As a documentary style wedding photographer one of my favourite parts of their wedding was the ceremony. You can just feel how many amazing people they have around them and was so amazing to listen to their friends speak from their hearts. Almost had me in tears in the ceremony.

After the ceremony there was a band and as a flamenco dancer the bride Saray danced in front of everyone while all the guests were cheering for her. Was such a special moment and as a documentary wedding photographer these moments are one of my favourites. The unscripted events are so real and that’s where the magic of the story telling really comes out.

The whole day was so beautiful and the wedding couple had organised so many surprises through out the evening. One of my favourite parts was when the circus artists from Arsalabrasa came and did a lot of shows through out the night. If you scroll down you can see a couple of photos of that! It really felt like a festival of love which I absolutely loved. I still bomb in to the wedding guest from their wedding and they can not stop talking about the that day, it was just so much fun for everyone!

For Saray and Ivan I really wanted to capture the emotions, the deep connections and the vulnerability when the two of them met in front of the arch in the ceremony space. It all felt so special and I felt so grateful to be a part of their magical day. These two really deserved to have the best day of their lives surrounded by their friends and family. Saray and Ivan have the most beautiful calm and powerful energy and with that I think they can do anything they set their minds to.

Let’s start from the most magical getting ready in the heart of Jerez de la Frontera in the beautiful hotel Casa Palacio María Luisa. I left from Chiclana De La Frontera with my camera bag ready and when I got to the hotel room, I was greeted with the smiling bride, make up artist and an excited mum. The bride Saray showed me her wedding dress and flowers and oh my god, they were just perfect for her boho inspired wedding. I was so excited to see her wear the dress and walk downstairs to the beautiful lobby of the hotel. As the hair was getting ready I took some detail shots and then it was finally time to head down stairs. The bride was so beautiful and you could really see that she had thought about every single little detail and I did my best as a boho wedding photographer with her getting ready portraits!

After Sarays photos I headed to the grooms getting ready in the villa where they were going to get married. The groom Ivan was looking so handsome as well and I just knew it was going to be so special for him to meet Saray at the altar. After Ivans photos I was headed to the ceremony place and it was so beautifully decorated, and was amazing to see such thoughtful work from the decorators at Siento Mariposas wedding planning.

And then it was time to get married! Oh this was on of the ceremonies that you just know how many lovely people this couple has around them. It was so emotional and as a wedding photographer I just love to capture this moments for my couples to be able to get straight back to the moment.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and I am so happy with the photos I got to capture, they really show the love and the connection what we all got to experience in their vow reading. After the ceremony and a little flamenco show it was time to party! The amazing circus artists from Arasalabrasa were waiting for the guests, the cheese was laid on the tables and everyone was having so much fun! The rest of the evening was one for the books, we even got a fire performance!

The party continued till late but just before I was about to go, there was one more performance and I just had to stay to capture this! Also I was so excited after the wedding so Saray and Ivan received a little sneak peek photo package right the next day from their wedding to already enjoy the photos!

The end!
