Cortijo Bravo wedding // Malaga, Spain
“We are absolutely thrilled with how the photos came out - not just of us but everyone else too! The film photos are even more special - they captured real and imperfect moments so perfectly.
The combination of colour, black and white and drone shots make it so professional but not staged - it is in the documentary style, exactly how we envisioned!”
Surrounded by the farm lands in the secluded hills just 50 minutes from the airport, this one of the most beautiful Malaga wedding venues was everything you need for the private celebration with your closest friends and family. The day started in the sunshine and I got to document the bride and groom getting ready in the villa. We used the drone to really set the scene and to show off the amazing scenery of the Andalusian countryside. Valerie and Alexander had reached out early in the year and since the first time we talked to them, we knew we were going to have so much together. It’s amazing to see when our couples really just fit together so well and love to experience things with each other. To tell the story of this beautiful couple at Cortijo Bravo was such an amazing experience as a vintage style and film documentary wedding photographer.
The ceremony was absolutely stunning and my favourite part was the letters the wedding couple had written to each other. Everything was just so perfect and to celebrate this special day being surrounded by all the friends and family from around the world made it extra special. The schedule of the day was of course planned and after the ceremony and the group shots we had a 10 minute portrait shoot in the ceremony space just with the couple and I’m in love with the photos. It often happens in the wedding days that the schedules are tight and the time in the wedding days is precious so I love to make the most of all the time I get to spent with my couples.
After the official wedding portraits it was time for the cocktail hour! The bride had designed such beautiful table settings and Sunshine Weddings had organised such a lovely space for the celebration. The countryside in the background, the afternoon turned in to sunset and emotional wedding speeches. Just when the sun was setting we headed to a portrait shoot number two and oh my god, was a dream come true for me since the colours and scenery looked like a cinematic film set up and our beautiful couple in the middle of it all! Oh such a dream! These two were also such naturals as well, I think I only gave one advice and told them to be the starts of their story and just focus on each other, and dispite the hurry of the day and all the new experiences they did so freaking amazing. The way they looked at each other was everything.
Then it was time for the party! The wedding couple had prepared such a cool dance which was followed by the dances with the parents and the dances of the guests and then the whole wedding joining the dance floor. I always have so much fun capturing these moments and it’s so much fun to give the photos to my couples for them to see all the shots themselves and of their guests dancing. I have such a collection of my favourite weddings this year and this wedding need to be added there too. The whole day was just such a blast and we felt so welcomed of course by our couple but by all their lovely guests as well. To be trusted to document this amazing two days of celebrations was truly amazing.
