Engagement session, N&M // La Zambra Resort, Marbella
Let’s start with saying this was literally the engagement session of my dreams! I already knew it would be a fun one since Natalie (our bride of 2026!) had told me that their favourite drink is an old fashioned and maybe we can start the engagement shoot at the hotel bar capturing them in action! I always love when my couples come with ideas to do together and since I literally chose to capture my couples with documentary photography, whether it’s a wedding, a couples shoot on the beach or city, so this was a dreaam!
Being in front of camera is always a bit awkward first (unless you are a pro) but having some things to do just make it so much easier and more fun! I mean if I had to pose in front of camera for an half an hour straight in the same spot, I would be bored too. But when you have things to do, it’s so much more fun! Also this couple realised that the whole set up reminded them of their first date which is so cute! We roamed around the La Zambra Resort (which was stunning btw, 10/10 recommended to stay there), stepped in to golf carts and took rides with a luggage strollers till it was time to head to the beach! On the way I had spotted this roundabout that reminded me of Beverly Hills streets (I have never been but I can imagine.. one day!!) and had to propose to take some street shots in the sunny hills of Marbella. These turned out to be one of my favourite shots.
We got to the beach with rays of sunshine, after a whole week of rain and despite all the odds, the water was blue and the sand was amazing. I gave my film camera to Matt, the future groom, and was so cute since he is a photographer too, to let him take a couple of portraits of Natalie. After that we made our way down from the sand dunes and Aroha had prepped a little surprise for the couple! Since our first meeting, we knew their favourite drink and thought if there is a way to get it to the beach and prep it in the sunset, we will make it happen! Well, we did and it was such a cute surprise:). It was a beautiful ending to the perfect afternoon together and now we are just so so excited for their wedding! Okay, and lastly shout out to our couple for letting us capture their favourite things to do together, for them just being themselves, having fun with us and saying yes to our artistic visions haha! Yay let the wedding count down begin!
